Protecting the over-fished lagoons of Mauritius

Mauritius is a small island with a big ocean state. Fringed by a ring of coral reefs, its lagoons attract millions of tourists and provide a livelihood for more than 2,200 local artisanal fishermen. However, years of degradation have left the waters in a fragile state.

In this video, we explore how the island’s fishers are fighting to save its precious lagoons and the sea life that depends on them.
