Coronavirus: More than 6,200 police checks, just 85 bookings

Police booked 85 businesses and individuals for violating the measures taken to prevent the spread of the coronavirus in the 24 hours until Saturday morning.

Police said a total of 6,265 checks were carried out and six owners of premises and businesses and 79 individuals were reported.

In Nicosia, 2,246 inspections were carried out with two premises and 33 people booked. In Limassol, the police carried out 1,781 checks and reported a property and 16 people. In Larnaca, 698 checks were carried out and 10 individuals were reported. In Paphos, 907 inspections were carried out and the managers of two establishments and six people were reported. In Famagusta, police carried out 447 checks and reported 10 individuals. In Morphou, 186 inspections were carried out without any bookings.

In addition, the port police carried out 18 checks without finding any violation of the measures. No violations were found at the airports.
