Life lessons: New radio show in collaboration with UCy and RIK

University Of Cyprus

Admittedly, the coronavirus pandemic has radically changed the way many activities in our lives work, one of which is contactless / virtual communication, both in the private and public spheres. In addition, at a time when the modern way of life seems to be becoming more and more complex, public debate and open dialogue based on scientific discourse and radio debate can only help to solve problems and address queries.

The press and public relations office of the University of Cyprus, responding to the special conditions and in order to manage the challenges of social distancing, expands the scope of action and scientific intervention of the Higher Education Institution, through the first radio programme of RIK The Debate.

This new show will be launched on January 5 by professor of the department of educational sciences of the University of Cyprus and founding member of the Cyprus Academy, Stavros Fotiou, who will present the topic Life Lessons. The discussion will include perspectives such as love, sexuality and love, the psychosomatic self and our motives and actions and the cultivation of interpersonal relationships. Issues such as education and culture, the relationship with God and nature will also be discussed. The discussion will also focus on the coronavirus pandemic.

Every first Tuesday of each month, academics, researchers, students and scientists of the University of Cyprus, will have the opportunity to post and analyse current or other local and international issues that concern society. At the same time, through live telephone communication, they will answer questions and listen to opinions of interested parties. This new show adds to the existing and now widely known radio lectures that are broadcast on the remaining Tuesdays of each month via the institution of the Free Universities.

The show will be aired from 7pm until 8.30pm.

Tune in to frequency 97.2 or watch the shows on the RIK website: http://cybc.com.cy/audio-on-demand/
