Campaign launched to boost cyber security

A cyber security information campaign was launched on Friday to increase awareness of protective measures online, with the police and banks among the participants.

The police, the digital security authority, the central bank and the Cyprus banking association have joined forces to lend their expertise and know-how in tackling and preventing cybercrime.

The campaign has been named ‘Aspis’ (Information Safety and Information Security) and seeks to inform the public of the common methods used by fraudsters when attempting to steal personal data and bank details.

The launch of the campaign notes that it will seek to assist those most at risk of common internet crimes.
