Two minors hospitalised after moped crash

Larnaca hospital

Two minors have been hospitalised with serious injuries after the moped they were riding on crashed into a car in Aradippou, police said on Saturday.

According to police, a 16-year-old boy was driving a moped with a 14-year-old boy as a passenger on Ayion Anargiroon Street around 10pm on Friday, when, under conditions that are being investigated, they crashed into a car driven by a 24-year-old man in the junction with Omirou Avenue.

As a result of the crash, during which the moped hit the left side of the car, the 24-year-old lost control and veered into wrong side of the road where he hit the wall of a house before coming to a stop.

The teens were taken by ambulance to the Larnaca general hospital where they are being treated. Their injuries though serious, are not life threatening and they are in a stable condition.

Aradippou police are investigating the exact causes of the accident.
