Two 27-year-olds were arrested on suspicion of assaulting a 35-year-old man in Paphos and will appear in court on a later date, police said on Wednesday.

Police said the alleged victim had filed a complaint to police on Sunday, saying that he was at a Paphos nightclub at 2am of the same day when the two suspects approached him and assaulted him.

He also said that he managed to escape with the help of an employee and was taken by ambulance to Paphos hospital, where it was determined he had suffered a nose fracture as well as cuts and bruises on his face and body. He then stayed in hospital for further tests.

Police arrested the two suspects on Tuesday after evidence pointed to their involvement in the incident and are investigating the statements they made during questioning.

The suspects were charged in writing and will face the court later, police said.

Paphos CID is still investigating the case.
