Two high-school students were arrested late on Monday after a 16-year-old boy was seriously injured at a school in Paphos.

The two students, both aged 18, were arrested on suspicion of being involved in an incident at the school that resulted in the injury of the underaged student.

The boy was taken to the hospital where doctors said he suffered a cheekbone fracture and various bruises.

Police said they arrested the two adult students, who were charged in writing and then released pending a court hearing.

Officers also conducted a search of their houses, without finding items used in the incident.

According to police, this is the second incident under investigation in the same high school.

The other incident involves different students, police added.
