Police warn of new scam

bank scam

Police on Thursday called on people to be alert after receiving complaints of messages aimed at obtaining recipients’ bank account details.

According to the police, many people have complained that they have received misleading alerts and messages that someone had tried to access their bank account and were asked to verify their access details through fake bank websites.

“No bank will ever ask for its customers’ passwords,” police said.

They also called on people to be very cautious and not to reveal to anyone their personal details and passwords to their bank accounts.

Before entering the passwords, police said, people must make sure that it is the authentic website of their bank.
