Coronavirus: 28 fines after 3,256 checks

Police Monday booked 24 individuals and four businesses after 3,256 checks for breaches of coronavirus measures.

Most checks, 1,605, were carried out in Nicosia where two establishments and 12 people were fined, while seven people were booked after 233 inspections in Limassol.

Two people were booked in Larnaca after 632 checks and two establishments in Paphos after 177 checks. In Famagusta, three people were fined following 328 checks while no violations were booked in Morphou after 147 checks.

Traffic, marine and port police also carried out 127 and 17 checks respectively without any bookings.

Violations include failure to wear a facemask or carry a SafePass.
