Survey shows people in the north are not happy

Only 2.58 per cent of people in the north believe that things are going well, a survey published in the Turkish Cypriot press on Tuesday showed.

The results of the three-month survey by the Center for migrants, identity and rights (CMIRS) also showed a decrease in confidence and social indicators in all sectors.

Meanwhile, 38.74 per cent said they would not vote if elections were held tomorrow. Among those who would, PTK got the most support at 18.13 per cent followed by partner in the current ‘government’ KEE with 8.96 per cent.

Institutions that respondents had the lowest confidence in were the ‘government’, political parties, ‘parliament’ and the ‘presidency’.

During Mustafa Akinci’s period as Turkish Cypriot leader confidence in the ‘presidency’ never fell below 3 (on a scale of 0 to 5), while the survey showed Ersin Tatar got 1.93, daily Yeni Duzen commented.
