Drunken man arrested for wielding knife on beach

Police on Tuesday took into custody a 38-year-old man for carrying a knife while intoxicated.

According police statement, on Tuesday afternoon around 4 pm, information was received that a drunken man was wielding a knife on the beach front in Kato Paphos.

Police rushed to the scene where they found the intoxicated man sitting on a bench. Following a body search, police found a sharp, pointed knife in his possession.

The 38-year-old permanent resident was subsequently arrested and is being held in custody.
