Let’s Do It Cyprus Awards honour Lidl’s green contribution

Lidl Cyprus once again actively supported the biggest Pancyprian volunteering campaign, organised by Together Cyprus.

The Let’s Do It Cyprus programme took place within the framework of the clean-up week that ran over October 24-30, 2022, but also throughout the previous year, with the valuable support of Lidl Cyprus, as well as the substantial contribution of 20,000 volunteers.

The programme is part of a global clean-up campaign that aims to clear natural areas of our planet from waste. The campaign’s action was the biggest cleaning and volunteering campaign in Cyprus for 2022.

More recently, at the May 5, 2023 Let’s Do It Cyprus Awards, dedicated to the campaign’s volunteers, awards and plaques were presented to all sponsors and public bodies that had supported the initiative.

Recognising its valuable support, Let’s Do It Cyprus saluted Lidl Cyprus with an honorary award, received officially by Lidl Cyprus General Manager Vasilis Lagogiannis from Agriculture Minister Petros Xenofontos.

Thereafter, Lagogiannis expressed his thanks to both Let’s Do It Cyprus, as well as to the Minister, noting that: “environmental awareness and awareness regarding the protection of the environment is an integral part of our DNA, for all of us at Lidl Cyprus.

“This is proven every day by our measures and various actions taken towards the protection of the environment and, of course society, as a whole,” continued Lagogiannis. “We work non-stop, and we capture, in practice, the impact of Lidl Cyprus at the economic, social and environmental levels.

“For this reason, we remain true to our corporate values, while, at the same time, building partnerships with organisations that join us, on the road to a better tomorrow.”

This collaboration is of great importance to Lidl Cyprus, as it is part of a wide range of activities and actions aimed at protecting the environment and society.
