Man arrested in Limassol, found with huge stash of stolen goods

Police in Limassol on Monday arrested a 52-year-old man for possession of illegal drugs and stolen property.

According to police statement, around 11.30pm officers on motorised patrol stopped a pedestrian for a check.

The 52-year-old Limassol resident was found in possession of a nylon bag containing a small amount of cocaine.

Police arrested the man for possession of narcotics, while a subsequent search of his home turned up a stash of items, including nine electric skates, two bicycles, five cameras, four camera lenses and other accessories, two laptops, six tablets, five mobile phones, seven pairs of wireless headphones, and 11 silver coins, for which the 52-year-old was unable to provide adequate explanation.

Preliminary examinations confirmed some of the items as stolen.

Police re-arrested the 52-year-old for possession of stolen property and he was taken into custody while the Limassol police continue investigations.
