A Greek who was born and raised in Australia but lives in Paris captivated the audience of the 8th Conference on Advertising, Marketing and Communication.

Andrew Dimitriou is CEO of VMLY&R in Europe, the Middle East and Africa with 24 offices and over 3,000 employees. He is responsible for defining the M&A’s strategy and development vision, as well as for defining the customer development agenda for the region. In the past, he led Y&R Europe for three years. Andrew is a true globalist and a creative and entrepreneurial thinker.

He talked about the idea of Connected Brands and how this communication model can respond to the new market for customers and consumers. Partners VMLY&R have adopted this model for years and been applying it to all their customers. He also talked about the holistic behaviour of brands and how they should behave.

Then in the session entitled Storytelling: Stronger Together, he spoke of the secrets of a successful and healthy customer-agency relationship, but also about how companies can increase their profitability through the branding process and why they should invest in their brand. Other panellists for this interesting discussion were Loukas Grigoras, Managing Creative Director of Partners VMLY&R and Chryso Poullika, Brand & Communication Manager of Eurolife and General Insurance of Cyprus.

This year the conference focused on the future of advertising in relation to recent changes in consumer behaviour due to the pandemic. It seems that the new consumer behaviour will transform the future of the industry, so companies need to better understand the new consumer and strengthen their brand accordingly.
